Marissa joined Macrae in 2024 as a Knowledge Manager in the San Francisco Bay Area. She provides organizational and research support to Joe Macrae and Sarah Morris, helps maintain the firm’s real-time collective intelligence platform and collaborates with other members of the firm’s global knowledge management taskforce on cross-office projects.

Before joining Macrae, Marissa was a Senior Recruiting Coordinator at Synthego, a biotech startup in the Bay Area. In this role, she supported a team of recruiters, streamlined processes, and led the end-to-end recruitment efforts for laboratory operations positions. Prior to her career in recruiting, Marissa was a Studio Manager and ballet instructor at a dance studio in San Jose, California.

Marissa holds a B.S. in Health Science with a minor in Nutrition and Food Sciences from San Jose State University. During her time at San Jose State, she served as a Lead Peer Health Educator, promoting health and wellness on campus through interactive presentations, discussions, workshops, and health education events. After receiving her undergrad degree, Marissa worked as a Unit Assistant in the Emergency Department working directly with doctors, nurses, and ED techs. 

Outside of work, Marissa enjoys practicing yoga, hiking and spending time with her dog, Ollie. In addition, she coaches a pre-professional ballet team and competitive ballet soloists in her spare time.
